Customizing a Meter

Click a meter in your menu bar and choose Customize This Meter…, or click Customize… next to it under In Your Menu Bar in Settings. You can change:

  • What it measures, with options like which disk, which accessory or which network direction
  • Its label, range and unit
  • Its color, or keep the face's own colors
  • Warning and critical levels, and a notification when it goes critical
  • Its width in the menu bar

Timers and countdowns

Click a timer meter to start, pause or reset it, and Multimeter tells you when it's done. A countdown counts down to a date you pick. Web address, file and script meters have Refresh Now in their menu.

Understanding Themes

A theme is a set of meters you can switch to. Use different themes for different situations.

Example Themes

  • Work: CPU, network and battery, small and quiet
  • Fun: animated faces like Hearts or Laser Sword
  • Movie Time: one quiet meter

Switching Themes

Click any meter in your menu bar and choose a theme from the Theme menu. To make a new one, open Settings and click the + button under Themes.

Making Your Own Faces

Faces are small web pages. If you know the basics of web development, you can make your own, and it works with every source.
