When You Purchase

When you purchase Multimeter, our payment processor Stripe collects:

• Name and email address
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)
• Billing address

We receive your name and email from Stripe to generate your license key. We do not store your payment card details - those are handled entirely by Stripe.

When You Use the App

The Multimeter macOS application:

• Reads battery information from your Mac (stays on your device)
• Stores your preferences and custom meters locally
• Syncs settings via iCloud if you enable it (Apple handles this data)
• Checks for updates via Sparkle (no personal data sent)

We do not collect telemetry, analytics, or usage data from the app.

When You Visit Our Website

Our website may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser information. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics services.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process your purchase and generate your license key
• Send you your license key via the download page
• Respond to support requests
• Send important updates about the app (security issues, major updates)

We will never sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Third-Party Services

Stripe

We use Stripe to process payments. Stripe's use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

Apple (iCloud)

If you choose to sync your settings via iCloud, Apple handles that data according to their privacy policy. This sync is optional and can be disabled in the app.

Sparkle

We use Sparkle for automatic updates. Sparkle checks our server for new versions but does not transmit personal information.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe using industry-standard encryption. Your license key is generated using cryptographic signing and cannot be reverse-engineered.

Data Retention

We retain your purchase information (name, email, license key) for as long as needed to provide support and verify your license. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@multimeterapp.com.
