Frequently Asked Questions
What are the system requirements?
Multimeter requires macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later. It works on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
How do I add multiple meters to my menu bar?
Open the Settings window by clicking any meter in your menu bar, then click 'Use Meter' on any meter you want to add. You can have as many meters as you like!
Can I rearrange the order of my meters?
Yes! In the Settings window, drag and drop meters in the preview strip at the top to rearrange them.
How do I create my own meter?
Right-click the meter in your menu bar and select 'New Meter Template...' This creates a folder with starter files that you can edit with any code editor. Check out our Creating Meters guide for details.
Do my settings sync between Macs?
Yes! Your theme preferences and active meters sync via iCloud to all your Macs signed into the same Apple ID.
Why isn't the time remaining showing?
macOS calculates the time remaining based on your current usage patterns. It may show '--:--' while calculating. This is normal, especially right after plugging in or unplugging.
How do I import a meter someone shared with me?
Double-click the .multimeter file, and Multimeter will automatically import it. You can then enable it in Settings.
Can I use Multimeter on a Mac without a battery?
Multimeter works on desktop Macs too! While some meters (like time remaining) won't be meaningful, others can still display information or you can use the simulation mode.
How do I get a refund?
If you're not satisfied with Multimeter, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we'll process a full refund.
