Variations
Next three hours, highest chance
Set forecast_hours=3 and use a Script meter: curl -s URL | jq '.hourly.precipitation_probability | max'.
Rain falling right now (mm)
current=precipitation, key path current.precipitation.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No number found in the response | The key path doesn’t match the reply. | Run curl -s with the address and read the JSON. Dots walk into objects, numbers pick array items (items.0.count). |
| Couldn’t reach the address | No network, a typo in the host, or the service is down. | Open the address in your browser. Multimeter tries again at the next refresh. |
Questions
Why the hourly probability and not a current one?
Rain chance is a forecast, so it’s given per hour. The first hour in the list is the one starting now.
