Count down to a date in your menu bar

Add a Countdown meter in Multimeter and pick the date. It shows the days and hours left, then minutes and seconds in the last hour, and the bar runs from when you set it up to zero.

Multimeter’s built-in faces, running live on sample data.

What macOS shows on its own

Calendar shows the event; nothing in macOS counts down to it in the menu bar.

How Multimeter shows it

  • The full scale is the whole countdown, from the moment you set it up to the date, so the bar shows how much of the wait is left.
  • Updates once a minute when days away, every 15 seconds within a day, and every second in the last hour.
  • Faces turn yellow in the last 5 minutes and red in the last minute.

Set it up

  1. Choose Add Meter… and pick Countdown.
  2. Pick the date and time in Customize.
  3. Give it a label like LAUNCH so you know what it’s counting to.

Every face works with every source it lists. See all 13 faces running live.
